Payal Singhal’s ‘Pakizah’ collection for the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 season explored Indian ethnics in a contemporary light. Actress Saiyami Kher walked the ramp for Payal Singhal’s elegant collection in a rose pink silk off shoulder choli and lehenga.
Minimalistic cuts in rich fabrics like silk, raw silk and mul dazzled on the ramp with earthy hues like sand dust, blue, pale pink, grey and black drenching the eyes of the fashion devotees with their effortless charm. Pearl and Mukaish embroidery and embellishments decorating a ‘soothing to the eyes’ fusion of subtle floral designs on the garments.
Off shoulder cholis, swirling lehengas, and diaphanous long skirts were the highlight of the show.
Hemlines varied from asymmetric to slightly raised. The silhouettes were all traditional but were presented with a contemporary touch for the modern women who is not scared to experiment with style.
‘Pakizah’ calls out to the ethnic lovers who are looking for a classic yet modern touch of flowy, embellished silhouttes in their wardrobe, this festive season. The collection is refined and evokes a quality of lightness.
