Anand

Dr Bhaskar Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan) is a doctor upset with his profession as he cannot save the lives of many poor people. One day, he meets Anand (Rajesh Khanna), a cancer patient. Anand and Bhaskar bond and Anand helps him confess his love to a woman he liked. This Amitabh Bachchan movie really takes you through a special journey as you laugh, cry, sing and learn to live life with Anand. Both Amitabh and Rajesh are top-notch in the film.

Chupke Chupke

Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Chupke Chupke was a remake of the Bengali film Chhadmabeshi and starred Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Om Prakash, Usha Kiran, David Abraham Cheulkar, Asrani and Keshto Mukherjee. In the film, we see a newly wedded husband play a prank on his wife’s family with full support from his wife and his friends. Dharmendra and Amitabh are truly amazing in the film and their comic timing is something to die for.

Pink

Minal (Taapsee Pannu), Falak (Kriti Kulhari) and Andrea (Andrea Tariang) are three independent women living together. One night, Meenal is sexually molested by Rajveer (Angad Bedi) but she manages to escape along with her three friends. The girls want to take their revenge for him for his actions and take the help of attorney Deepak Sehgal to fight the case. Pink was backed by solid performances by the entire cast.

Paa

Auro (Amitabh Bachchan) is an intelligent and witty 13-year-old boy with an extremely rare genetic defect that causes accelerated ageing. Auro’s mother Vidya (Vidya Balan) was in love with a political science student, Amol (Abhishek Bachchan). During her time with him, she ends up getting pregnant. Since Amol wants to become a politician, he tells Vidya that he will not be able to take responsibility for a child. A heartbroken Vidya decides against abortion and takes the decision to raise the child alone.

Sholay

The film is probably the most popular in the history of Indian cinema. Sholay is set in a small village which is constantly being harassed by a bandit Gabbar (Amjad Khan) and his gang. Thakur Baldev Singh (Sanjeev Kumar), a former police officer hires outlaws Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) and Veeru (Dharmendra) with the aim of dealing with Gabbar. Comedy, action, drama, romance, and of course friendship were all there in spades in the film.
