A Regal Affair — #YAVISH Engagement

The gorgeous city of Udaipur saw another grand pre-wedding celebration, second only to the recent grand nuptial celebration of Isha Ambani. The three-day grand engagement celebration for #YAVISH — Yamini and Vishal at The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur lit the city of lakes up with its gaudy colours and the scent of the families’ proximity.

The grand celebrations began by welcoming the guests with an enchanting and lively Rajasthani welcome with the spectacular sound of nagadas, camel escorts and Rajasthani folk dancers. Following this, the wedding ceremonies began with the mehendi ceremony, which was given a tropical theme at the Front Lawn of the property facing the gorgeous Lake Pichola. The pineapple installations, colourful tables from aesthetic centrepieces formed out of flowers and fruits, and a relaxing seating arrangement made the engagement look even grander. The celebrations proceeded with the musical night and cocktail party where Smt Gulabo Sapera, a Padma Shri awardee enthused the crowd with her performance. The overall vibe of the party was accentuated by Ravi Kishan who joined Sapera to produce a Bhojpuri-Rajasthani jugalbandi.

The second day was as ritualistic as it could get. Ten pandits were specially flown from Banaras to perform the roka ceremony for the bride and groom. The entire property was decked up in Indian floral décor to create an aura of auspiciousness for the grand pre-nuptials.

The actual grand engagement ceremony on July 7, 2019, was a grand event that took place in Forecourt of The Udaivilas. The bride entered in a stunning ensemble designed with a 30-feet long veil. One of the highlights of this destination engagement was the couple exchanging their Wedding rings in the centre of the iconic Lily Pond along with the lightening of 400 pyros around the periphery of this heritage property. Also, their guests enjoyed a riveting performance by singer Shibani Kashyap and a comic gig by comedian Rajeev Nigam. The enthusiasm of these performances was carried ahead by DJ Lalit who played his jams throughout the night, as the party went up till wee hours.
