The Phogat family and close acquaintances rejoiced as wrestler Babita Phogat married Vivek Suhag in a traditional ceremony on Sunday, December 1 in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. The couple marked their wedding exceptional by taking eight pheras, the extra phera marking the pledge to save, help and teach the girl child. The entire family rejoiced and the celebrations poured in as the adorable bride and groom decked up in traditional attire for their holy matrimony. The film and sports fraternity blessed and congratulated the couple as they posted their pictures on social media.
The beautiful bride was decked up in a red velvet sequined lehenga that was accentuated by matching golden jewellery with maang teeka and a statement neckpiece. The groom Vivek Suhag donned shades of off-white, cream and golden for the wedding day. The sisters Ritu Phogat and Geeta Phogat along with the siblings also looked absolutely gorgeous in shades of pastels — yellow, green and pink.
The 30-year-old wrestler and politician has been popular among the masses due to her accolades in wrestling, Amir Khan starrer movie based on her and Geeta’s life ‘Dangal’, her stints with politics and her participation in ‘Nach Baliye 9’ with Vivek Suhag.
