Here’s who made headlines at BAFTA 2025
The 78th British Academy Film Awards, popularly known as BAFTA 2025 was held at London’s iconic Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the finest achievements in cinema and television. Like every year, the prestigious award was filled with anticipation and excitement. This year the show was hosted by Scottish actor David Tennant. The red carpet was glazed with some astonishing looks while the evening was decorated with industry gathering to honour the best in film and television.
Among the biggest wins of the night, the most talked about one was undoubtedly Adrien Broody bagging the Best Actor award for The Brutalist. This category is right now the most thrilling category in all the big award shows, including the upcoming Academy Awards, with tough competition among some of the finest performances last year. The Oscar-winning actor Brody, who won his first Oscar for The Pianist, took a big step towards his next one with this win last night.

Apart from Adrien Brody, The Brutalist ruled the winner list with Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Original Score. Conclave was the other big winner with Best Outstanding British Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing. Additionally, Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl stood out in the animated and family film categories.
Among the highly anticipated categories, one was the Best Film in Foreign Language. Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine as Light lost to the French musical crime comedy Emilia Pérez. Kapadia, accepting the loss gracefully stated “It’s an honour to have been nominated alongside such incredible films. Emilia Pérez truly deserved the win.”

Her film, despite not taking the win home, certainly made its mark globally, cementing Kapadia’s reputation as a rising star in international cinema.
