83

83 is a much-anticipated, upcoming Indian sports drama film. Directed by ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ fame Kabir Khan and jointly produced by Khan himself, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Phantom Films, Deepika Padukone and Sajid Nadiadwala. Co-distributed by Reliance Entertainment. The illustrious film stars ‘Gully Boy’ actor Ranveer Singh as cricketer Kapil Dev, along with Padukone as his wife Romi Bhatia. Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, and Sahil Khattar make up the entire Indian cricket team which brought home the World Cup.

In September 2017, Reliance Entertainment and Vibri Media hosted an event to announce the film with the team that had won the 1983 World Cup. The shooting began on June 5, 2019 in England. Although it was scheduled for theatrical release on 10 April 2020, the release has been postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. This will be the first outing of the couple together, after their much-talked about wedding in Lake Como.

Thalaivi

Yet another powerful outing by none another than Kangana Ranaut. Thalaivi is an upcoming 2020 Indian biopic film directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh under their respective banners Vibri Media and Karma Media And Entertainment. The story is about the life of the powerful J. Jayalalithaa, late politician and film actress who served six terms as the honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Consequently, with Kangana Ranaut playing the role of Jayalalithaa.

Principal photography began on November 23, 2019 and the film will be theatrically released in India on June 26, 2020. Henceforth, we expect nothing but a flawless performance by the stunner. Kangana Ranaut was last seen in ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ which was quite a hit amongst the audience. Her performance was hailed by one and all. Let’s hope we get to see her soon on the silver screen.

Shakuntala Devi

Shakuntala Devi is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biopic film directed and written by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Pictures Networks India and Vikram Malhotra under his banner Abundantia Entertainment. The film stars national award winner Vidya Balan as Shakuntala Devi. Shakuntala Devi was also known as the “human computer”. Apart from Balan, the film stars Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra and Amit Sadh. Principal photography began on September 16, 2019 and was wrapped up on November 20, 2019. The film was scheduled to be theatrically released in India on May 8, 2020. As a result, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film will not be released theatrically and will stream worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.

Gangubai Kathiawadi

Gangubai Kathiawadi is an upcoming Indian biopic crime film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, written by Utkarshini Vashishtha and produced by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada under their respective banners Bhansali Productions and Pen India Limited. The film stars Alia Bhatt in the titular role. As a result, the film is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Gangubai Kothewali, the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura. Principal photography started on December 27, 2019 in Mumbai. Alia Bhatt shared the same on her social media platforms. Henceforth, the film is scheduled for theatrical release on 11 September 2020.
