Dolly J’s collection ‘La Vie En Rose’ unfolded a bridal fairytale on the runway with outfits embracing timeless elegance through modern craftsmanship. Including intricate embroideries and floral motifs in shimmering fabrics like iridescent tissues, tulle, chiffons, and silk organzas, the line effortlessly blended feminine beauty and experimental designs. Comprising mostly gowns and lehengas, the collection also showcased a few saris, from pastel to red, black, pink and blue colours. “This year, our ateliers are inspired by jewel tones and a lot of structuring. Very delicate and lacey fabrics have been used to construct structural corsets. We have developed a very iridescent tissue which drapes around the body, making you look like a million-dollar,” said the designer explaining her collection.

JJ Valaya on the other hand wowed the audience with his collection ‘MURAQQA’, a fusion of rich textiles, fine crafts and exquisite detailing. Inspired by the Ottoman intricacies, Persian carpets, and Mughal inlays, the outfits featured custom woven silks and lush velvets. The line featured a wide range of ensembles from saris, lehengas, evening jackets, sherwanis, and Nehru jackets, highlighting the traditional embroidery techniques and prints reflecting the designer’s signature royal and art deco influences. “Muraqqa are the beautiful albury decorated in the past where miniature paintings, poems were bound together and kept. This is a very precious collection for me. It brings together three major influences and puts them together in one place,” added Valaya on his collection.
