Bvlgari Intensifies Support To Fight Covid-19

A heartiest thanks to the impeccable contributions of Bvlgari as it keeps supporting the scientific and medical community in their fight against coronavirus. One month after announcing an important donation to the Spallanzani Hospital to acquire a new state of the art – 3D high definition microscope, Bvlgari has announced its further contribution to the national effort to prevent, fight and eradicate Covid-19. The Roman Jeweller decided to manufacture together with its historical fragrances partner, ICR (Industrie Cosmetiche Riunite, Lodi), several hundreds of thousands of hand gel bottles to be supplied in priority to all medical facilities throughout the Italian Government.

Bvlgari Chief Executive Officer, Jean-Christophe Babin said that he believed as a major economic actor and symbol of Italy, Bvlgari had a responsibility to contribute to the national effort amidst the Corona crisis. He thanked its fragrances expertise for developing together with ICR a hand cleansing gel with sanitizer manufactured in the Lodi Factory along with high end perfumes and hotel amenities. The hand gel is distributed in 75ml recyclable bottles throughout the Italian Government in order to help the most critical infrastructures today waging war against the virus. Bvlgari further plans to manufacture more bottles in the coming 2 months. “As a Scientific Research and Treatment Institute, with a national and international scope” – says the General Director of Spallanzani Marta Branca “working for research means not only reacting to the emergency, but above all supporting the hope of finding treatments and vaccines for the Covid-19 infection and other serious infectious diseases. The support of Bvlgari means having the real perception of a stable and lasting collaboration”.

Bvlgari is a part of the LVMH Group, the world leader in luxury products and retailing, which supports the French Health Authorities, manufacturing in its Perfume and Cosmetics laboratories inclusive of Dior, Guerlain,and Givenchy around 50 tons per week of sanitizing gel to be generously distributed across French hospitals. The Group had also placed an order of a significant amount of masks to a Chinese supplier. The first 10 million masks had been delivered in France. The Group is also currently looking to send several millions masks to Italy and Spain.
