Celebrating the stunner collections at India Couture Week 2021


The pandemic seems to have yet again stand amidst our love for fashion, but there is nothing that can stop the style from taking its course and adding some extra pinch of spice into the existing styles. While we continue to respect the standards of social distancing, ICW takes place yet again on the digital platform and the response gathered is what defines the aura of fashion shows despite such trying times.

As stated by the chairman, Sunil Sethi Pandemic or not, the fashion shows will go on’. And we guess our star designers took this statement too damn seriously and showcased their best collections to date.

Couturiers went out of their ways to make the second digital edition of India couture week 2021 one of the most memorable and brightest ones. Keeping the norms of social distancing in mind the Fashion Design Council of India decided to schedule the second digital edition of India Couture week 2021 in association with Hindustan times and jewellery partner Archana Aggarwal from the 23rd of August to the 29th of the same month.

Some of Indias finest designers took the creative route to depict their collections, from shooting at historical places to opting for luxurious hotels or old Havelis our designers made sure to give us a plush line for their couture. While we are discussing the prolific effort made by all our designers then why not name them along with their statement-worthy couture lines. Have a look at this list below to get a brief about all the designers and their splendid work to date.

A soothing beginning on day 1

The 14th edition of the Digital event witnessed the mesmerizing representation of Manish Malhotras couture line Nooraniyat”. The ace designer made sure to inculcate every brides fairytale desires in his gorgeous couture collection. Actress Kriti Sanon was seen as turning muse for the designer in the Bridal edit. From regal reds to gorgeous golds his collection had it all.

From ivory to galaxies on day 2

The second day of the India couture week was blossomed by the wide range of luxurious collections from couturiers like- Siddhartha Tytler, Suneet Varma, and Gaurav Gupta. Siddhartha Tytler showcased his Ambrosia” collection where actor Aditya Seal turned showstopper looking all dapper in the ivory range collection. Suneet Varma on the other hand showcased his drop-dead collection Noor” with beautiful pastels and delicate embroidery for both brides as well as grooms. Lastly, Gaurav Gupta went all vibrant with his couture line “ Universal Love”. His collection defined the elements of the universe by taking us on a ride into the mesmerizing world of space. Gaurav Gupta made sure to depict his sculpted silhouettes in a fine manner.

Enchanted effects on day 3

The third day again witnessed a plethora of designs from the collections of Pankaj and Nidhi Couture, Dolly J, and Amit Aggarwal. Pankaj and Nidhis glowing collection Afterglow” was a deal-breaker for all the fashion lovers, it aimed at depicting stellar craftsmanship with a timeless essence of Beauty. Dolly J, the splendid couturier showcased her collection Ah-Lam” and the designs are all about highlighting the liquid silver fabric along with a mix of pastel collections. Amit Aggarwal on the other hand went all exquisite with his collection Metanoia”, his collection saw a mix of the intricate hand painting detail through a mesmerizing marble pattern over discarded PVC.
