When the giants of the fashion industry get together to create something new – there will be fireworks, there will be grandeur, there will be creations that are larger than life – it’s a no brainer. The third day of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2017 saw a handful of awe-inspiring collaborations and made the fashion world so much better.

Leading couture designers Falguni and Shane Peacock joined hands with top jeweller Farah Khan to showcase their designs at Anais, St Regis for the LFW 2017. Falguni and Shane Peacock’s much awaited and aptly named Spring/Summer 2018 collection ‘Casssiopeia” was unveiled at the LFW with great ado.

In a room full of hushed excitement, super model Ujwala Raut opened the show with a black-sequined swimsuit teamed with a cape and an organza jacket. The runway then came alight with the most beautiful evening gowns and dresses complete with capes and sheer bomber jackets. Falguni and Shane Peacock used the universe and the galaxy as their inspiration for their collection.

To make the collection better than it was already was, Farah Khan’s jewelry collection “Elysian Dreams” made the clothes come alive and gave them an inter-galactic feel to all the ensembles. The whole affair in a word was quite “transcendent”.

Caprese also tied up with designers Gauri Verma and Karina Laungani, the makers of “Jodi Life” for their collection “Dress like a girl”. It was a comprehensive showcasing of their collection of bags and garments respectively. Caprese bags were paired with ensembles created by “Jodi Life” for fun, peppy and confident looks.

“Lakmé Fashion Week is the most conducive platform for an association with Caprese brand as it is the leading platform in fashion, just as Caprese brand is the purveyor of international fashion in India. Very proud to announce that today, Caprese brand is showcasing the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection at Lakmé Fashion Week,” stated Mr. Sudeep Ghose, Senior Vice President, Sales Marketing and Service, Caprese Bags.

Rhea Chakraborty stopped the show in a knee-length dress and a bright pink shoulder bag.

Designer Amit Aggarwal’s fanastic collection was brought to LFW 2017 by Monaco Tourism.  Amit Aggarwal said, ‘I am delighted to partner with Monaco Tourism for our Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 showcase. The collection that started its roots in Monaco was interpreted by use of discarded vintage Banarasi saris that have a history but have lost their purpose; in a hope to find them a new life and a new home.”

Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Nangia, India Director, Monaco Government Tourist Bureau said, “Monaco is the epitome of luxury and glamour, and undoubtedly one of the finest tourist destinations in the world to enjoy the high life. We loved the collection, “Monaco from the Heart of Kashi” exclusively showcased by Amit Aggarwal at Lakmé Fashion Week. The style and opulence that his collection featured is truly synonymous with, the fashion extravagance that destination Monaco is bestowed with. His collection was truly in line with the mood of magnificent celebrations and weddings, one can picturise at destination Monaco. Luxury comes with a lot of responsibility and sustaining our environment, heritage, art and culture is of prime importance. Practicing sustainability in Monaco is also of prime importance and we appreciate Amit’s effort to maintain the years’ old heritage of, “Banarsi Saris and hand work” in this collection.”

The dusky, long-legged Goddess of Bollywood, Esha Gupta stopped the show and time as she strut down the runway in modern-chic golden blouse and a royal blue gown.

The third day of LFW 2017 came to a glorious end as Rahul Mishra showcased his collection for “Project Eve”.

Desinger Rahul Mishra said, ‘The unique association of Project Eve and Rahul Mishra is an opportunity for the handloom weavers of the country who form the essence of this collaboration. I feel immensely honoured to be a part of this collaboration with Project Eve that thrives to create supportive ecosystems for our weavers – the building blocks of Indian Fashion. The collection showcased will be available at the stores by next week’.

Rahul Mishra used a lot of Chanderi, Maheshwari, Banarasi fabrics in his collection and one could also spot hints of Mughal architectural patterns in his designs. The collection was royal and a sight to behold.
