Most hyped haute couture event of the season FDCI ‘India Couture Week’ which is currently taking place at the capital, experienced the exquisite collection display by ace designer, Rohit Bal at the Bikaner House.

Synonymous to opulent, elegant, awe-inspiring, Rohit Bal took a leap back in the Mughal era and showcased his elite collection ‘Shaahaan-e-Khaas’.

Bollywood star Arjun Rampal walked the ramp for the designer, wearing an all black bandhgala and pants. Though the collection was inspired by the royal Mughals with authentic traditional embroidery, Rohit Bal made sure he totes an element of modern sensibilities.

His collection featured collection for both women and men. The display began with the tones of elegant whites, which was then followed by celestial off whites, dainty golds, and lush maroons, majestic navy and royal emeralds.

The regal collection encompassed floor length sleeves of jackets, shoulder pads, rich velvet capes, embroidered crop jackets, intricate embroideries and Swarovski crystals on the pieces added the required bling to the garments.

As per the surprise element, the designer kept aside his signature motifs – lotus and peacock and introduced a new motif-cock which was placed visibly throughout the collection.
