Diwali celebrations are never complete without the mention of card parties, get-togethers and bonding time with family and friends. While this year’s Diwali may be subdued due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, your  Diwali home décor does not have to be. Delhi-based interior designer and stylist Sanjyt Syngh,  known for his chic and awe-inspiring interior décor ideas, unveils exquisite Diwali décor settings that showcase luxury and timelessness. Wedding Affair  Interior designer and stylist Sanjyt Syngh shares some simple décor styling ideas that will help you make a bold statement this Diwali. The very easy-to-do Diwali décor tips include the following:

Elegant Details

“Styling is all about the details. I feel that it’s important to keep your home décor elegant and not go over the top,” says Sanjyt Syngh.  Subtle things and minimalistic decor are what Wedding Affair totally admires as well. We all love clean lines.

Flowers

Adding flowers along with colourful home décor pieces is one of the simplest ways to decorate homes for Diwali celebrations. From floral installations, floral props,  artificial flowers, botanicals to structured floral arrangements, there are numerous ways to elevate your home décor with flowers.

Candles

“While it may seem like a lesser detail, lighting plays an important role. It evokes the senses and adds drama. I say go all out with candles! If you want to take it to the next level, there’s nothing like scented candles,” adds Sanjyt. Scented candles and floating ones are just ideal for the Diwali season.Diwali

Unexpected Accents

Sanjyt Syngh states: “Unexpected accessories can bring in bling. It’s not necessary you decorate with flowers and candles. Sometimes a thoughtful arrangement of metallic accessories and objects can do the job! Experiment, mix-and-match and enhance your space with a festive touch. Along with pots and vases, candles,  wine glasses and birdcages also work well when paired with flowers.” Bold Artwork: Go bold with one large artwork that dominates the wall. Alternatively, add a touch of graphic edge with a variety of abstract art.

Books

You can never go wrong with using books as décor. Books are a practical and sophisticated home décor choice. You can use them flexibly for an antique decor. Plus, you get to read a lot, which is even better than a win-win situation, somehow.

Cohesive Décor Settings

It is important that all the décor pieces compliment each other. Place artefacts and crystal pieces styled with flowers, candles, and silverware on serving trays to make a striking statement this Diwali!
