Christmas season is all about getting cosy near a fire and preparing all those tasty delicacies that render joy to your heart. Do you want to know about all the super delicious drinks that you can try this Christmas? Wedding Affair has you covered. We enlist some Christmas classic drinks recipes for you!

Classic Mulled Cider

ChristmasThis is a very simple recipe. All you got to do is combine. Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan and let the whole thing simmer for several minutes to steep and deepen the flavours. Check out ingredients and recipe here. This recipe suggests starting by adding one cup of your favourite white or red wine, either dry or half-dry. If it’s not enough, continue to add until you reach the desired taste. One cup is ideal if you want a strong apple flavour, especially if you’re using white wine. Two cups will give you a great balance of flavours. More than two cups produce a very strong wine flavour that might begin overpowering the cider. All options are great, depending on what you want and how much wine you need at that particular moment.

Hot Chocolate

We all know that winters tend to get a little lonesome and like most animals, human beings also prefer hibernating under their blankets during this weather. For all the evenings when you come back home tired and for all the evenings when you just want to grab a book or Netflix and chill, this decadent spiced hot chocolate will be your best ever friend. Smooth and balanced flavours of chocolate combined with a variety of spices will be nothing less than a warm embrace for you, one that you’ll keep on going back to. Check out Shivesh’s recipe here.

Eggnog

Combine milk, cloves, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and cinnamon in a saucepan, and heat over lowest setting for 5 minutes. Slowly bring milk mixture to a boil. In a large bowl, combine egg yolks and sugar. Whisk together until fluffy. Whisk hot milk mixture slowly into the eggs. Pour mixture into saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes, or until thick. Do not allow the mixture to boil. Strain to remove cloves, and let cool for about 1 hour. Stir in rum, cream, 2 teaspoon vanilla, and nutmeg. Refrigerate for 8 hours, or overnight, before serving. Check all you need to know here.

Hot Buttered Rum

Hot buttered rum is a favourite winter drink and it’s irresistible. It is both sweet and warm, which is just the kind of comfort you want on the coldest days of the year. In the United States, the drink dates back to colonial times, but warming beverages, in general, have a longer and broader history. There are a number of ways to make this popular drink and two are included here for you to choose from, depending on your mood. Check out the full recipe here. The main hot buttered rum recipe is very simple and can be used to quickly mix up one or two drinks at a moment’s notice. If you’re a big fan of the cocktail or plan to serve it at a party, you can also make up a big batch that can be stored in the refrigerator so all you have to do is pour, stir, and drink.

English Christmas Punch

In A Christmas Carol, when Ebenezer Scrooge is presented with the Ghost of Christmas Present, he finds the “jolly Giant” sitting in state on an enormous heap of roast meats and other traditional English Christmas delicacies and flanked by “seething bowls of punch that made the chamber dim with their delicious steam.” Charles Dickens knew all about delicious steam. Fortunately, in 1847, he wrote the whole procedure out for a friend’s wife. It’s not hard to follow, and there’s no better way to get a holiday party started than by getting everybody involved in draining a bowl of punch. All it takes is a little preparation in advance, a willingness to hold forth a bit in front of your guests, and a high enough ceiling that you won’t burn your house down. Dickens was never afraid to employ cheap sensationalism if it would help him get over, and there’s nothing more sensational for selling a drink than setting it on fire. Here’s a great interpretation.
