Bengali saris, cast another level of uniqueness to a trousseau as they are inspired by cultural heritage. I turned my eyes towards the silk saris of Bengal – yes, for those of you who are unaware, Bengal too, makes some of the best silk saris in India. The most famous of them would be the Murshidabad silk, which has a mention in the historical scrolls of the 18th century. It is said that the erstwhile East India Company helped to set up two factories to produce Murshidabad silk. Laad Bazaar also called as Chudi Bazaar is one of the famous ancient bazaar in Hyderabad where women can shop bangles of diverse shades and hues. Chudi Bazaar is prominently famous for bangles made of every possible material including pearls. I was lured to see the different assortment of bangles. Available in the bazaar are chudis made up of glass, brass, lac (hard lacquer sealing wax), metal, threads and silver. It is mostly famous for lac bangles studded with glass mirrors and colorful stones. As our team went down to these lanes, we were mesmerized by its vibrancy. Every shop was lively with exuberant hues of beauty and splendor. We just couldn’t resist purchasing in dozens.
