Organised by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the nine-day event had all eyes on it considering the presentation of collections by the most ascendant designers and conglomerate-backed brands, and the fashionable front rows filled with A-list celebrities. Dior and Saint Laurent
For the SS25 show, Dior creative director Maria Grazia Churi presented a women’s ready-to-wear collection featuring sporty athleisure combining body, fashion and sport. Cue to the jersey dresses, asymmetric bodysuits and a sporty version of the Amazone dress dreamed up by Christian Dior himself. At Saint Laurent, Anthony Vaccarello turned the clock back to the early 1980s and took inspiration from the brand’s founder Yves Saint Laurent. Featuring long trailing coats, artisto ruffs and cuffs and silk brocade jackets, Bella Hadid made a comeback to the runway after three years, alongside a brigade of women dressed in superior men’s ensembles.
Schiaparelli and Mugler
Schiaparelli’s Daniel Roseberry paid tribute to the women who have supported his vision and worked at the Maison with famous models such as Kendall Jenner, Irina Shayk and Adriana Lima on the runway. With casual codes transformed into extraordinary ensembles, classic Schiaparelli motifs like the lobster and keyhole were also spotted. Mugler presented one of the most talked about collections at the Paris Fashion Week. The futuristic collection was inspired by the dark and sinister, showing spiked shoulders, dainty dresses frozen in time and fringes parted mid-air.
Loewe and Issey Miyake
Loewe was all about clothes this time. Experimenting with radical reduction, Jonathan Anderson created a line of clothing more about the outfit itself than the look it takes with added accessories. Leather capes, mother-of-pearl trenches and dresses with impressionist florals were some of the highlights of the collection. Creative director Satoshi Kondo presented his collection ‘The Beauty of Paper’ for Issey Miyake. Inspired by washi, traditional Japanese paper handmade from plant fibres, the ensembles were the result of an innovative play between fashion and tradition.

McQueen and Elie Saab
Seán McGirr created his second collection for McQueen and it was inspired by the Banshee, a folklore spirit. To a soundtrack of various British artists, models walked the ramp in silk organza, cobweb lace, British mohair, and a final look with a crystal-covered creature personifying the banshee. Elie Saab on the other hand took a walk in the African wild for his collection which perfectly represented nature with leopard print on jackets, and sequined dresses signifying palm trees, foliage and animal motifs.
Chanel and Louis Vuitton
With a theme of flying up in the air, Chanel made a comeback to the Grand Palais after four years. Encouraging women to embrace freedom just like the founder Coco Chanel, the ensembles featured metallic tweed, embellished Peter Pan collars and feathered capes. Next was Louis Vuitton who presented a massive assemblage of outfits inspired by their signature trunks. Some highlights were the trapezoidal minidress, ruffled polo dresses with wild 80s patterns and more.
Celebrity Sightings
Indian and international celebrities gave their fashionable best to the Paris Fashion Week in designer creations and stylish accessories. Sonam Kapoor and Ananya Panday were some Indian celebrities seen at the Dior and Chanel show. Zendaya, Blackpink’s Lisa, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Daniel Craig, Harry Styles, Cardi B and Camilla Cabello were some of the most popular personalities seen in the front rows.
