Eldest son to India’s richest man, Akash Ambani recently got engaged at a private event in Goa. Pictures shared by fan pages and social media pages showed a picturesque lawn ceremony under palm trees and white shamianas. In an interview to a newspaper, Nita Ambani confirmed that marriage is on the cards. Speculations are that the couple are set to tie the knot in December this year. Akash, 25, who has often been spotted on magazine covers and premier events is a popular personality in India. He is on the board of directors of Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail. But Shloka Mehta isn’t a known face. As the pictures of the couple getting engaged went viral on Sunday morning, people started to wonder who the mystery girl is. Well, Shloka Mehta is the youngest daughter of diamantaire Russel Mehta and Mona Mehta. Russel Mehta’s Rosy Blue (earlier known as B Arunkumar & Co) has a presence in 12 countries including Belgium, Israel, Japan, the US and China. It arguably one of the world’s largest diamond trading entities.
Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta were schoolmates at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai and have been close friends for years. Shloka Mehta went to study anthropology at Princeton University and graduated in 2013. She then did her masters in law and anthropology at the London School of Economics and passed out in 2014.
Shloka Mehta has two sisters and is the director of Rosy Blue Foundation since 2014.She co-founded ConnectFor in 2015 which makes it convenient for people to volunteer and provide services in NGOs of their choice. Shloka Mehta and her family lives in south Mumbai.
