Galaxies And Interpretations — Day 4 At Lakme Fashion Week

79

Galaxy inspirations, floral work, pearls, and shimmer — the fourth day at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019, was filled with shimmers, glitters and celebratory vibes. As the prestigious five-day fashion extravaganza approached its end, the designs and designers got as exciting as they could get.

Ananya Panday walked the ramp twice as she culminated the designs of two ace designers – Anushree Reddy and Arpita Mehta. For Anushree Reddy, she shimmered in a stunning pearl and katdana embroidered lehenga in off-white. Reddy’s collection ‘Gulaal’ was a glorious combination of embroidery, floral patchwork, zari work, and festive colours. Panday rocked another outfit as a showstopper at the fashion week. For Arpita Mehta, Panday walked in a flamingo pink embellished floral lehenga, for her collection ‘TrenTradition’. Mehta’s collection was dedicated to the modern fuss-free, sassy and nouveau bride who is all kinds of beautiful.

It was exciting at Lakme Fashion Week for another reason — Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna returned to this ramp after their 15-year hiatus. For their collection ‘Interstellar’, they turned the ramp into a milky way with their models acting as the stars of the galaxy. It was a true treat to the eyes to watch their collection in metallic shimmery hues and pearl-embroidered designs and futuristic cuts. Disha Patani and Ayushmann Khurrana walked the ramp for the designer duo. While Patani stunned in a shimmery, ash-grey dress with a thigh-high slit and plunging neckline, Ayushmann Khurrana amped up the show in an asymmetrical black jacket with sparkle dust details over a grey shirt and black trousers.

Other shows that stole the limelight include – Kunam Rawal’s collaboration with boAt, Ambika Lal’s collection, Bandana Narula’s collection ‘Dazva’, and Narendra Kumar’s ‘Stranger Noises’, among various others. Arjun Kapoor closed the show by Kunal Rawal, Rhea Chakraborty rocked a black strapless ruffled gown with a shimmery bodice, and Shibani Dandekar looked like a dream in the corset style choli and indo-western lehenga in lilac colour by Bandana Narula.
