Game Of Thrones Stars Kit Harington And Rose Leslie Getting Married Today!
We might have witnessed the royal wedding last month but there’s another royal couple who is getting married this month. The King in the North, Jon Snow (a.k.a. Kit Harington), is reportedly set to marry the wildling Ygritte (a.k.a. Rose Leslie) in Scotland today. The Game of Thrones stars registered their wedding date, June 23, at Huntly registration office in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, according to a BBC News report.
The couple’s engagement was announced last year. The two became close while on set in Iceland shooting for season 2 of Game of Thrones. Harington had previously opened up about the early days of their romance, admitting that those weeks were his favourite during the series.
As it turns out, Leslie’s family owns an actual castle in the area which will be the venue for the big day. Wardhill Castle, which has been in her family for a whopping 900 years, is being set up with tents for the couple’s wedding. The castle has recently been transformed into a luxury hotel and wedding venue, which rents out eight bedrooms for the bridal party, including a honeymoon suite.
If sources are to be true, Harington and Leslie will take their vows in the castle’s drawing room, which has a wedding license and can accommodate up to 80 people. The wedding breakfast and after-dinner speeches will be held in a tent on the property. According to the property’s website, the wedding tent, or marquee, is usually set up within the Walled Garden, “hidden in the woods to add an element of surprise after the ceremony.”
