Regardless of the bridal glow you may want, you should know that there’s a way to achieve it. Lucky for you, Wedding Affair has all the details you need to get on this glowing beauty trend.

A Dewy Finish

The key to this, you ask? Hydration, hydration, hydration! A properly hydrated and moisturised skin is indispensable to achieve a glowy finish. To get the look, mix a drop of liquid illuminator with your moisturiser before applying it. Alternatively, if you prefer only specific areas to be dewy, use your fingers to tap a shimmer-free highlighting product (like a balm or stick) onto areas you want to pop, such as your cheekbones and brow bones. With such a simple trick, you’ll be able to achieve a more naturally glowing skin.

A Matte Highlight

Even though highlighters are the talk of the town these days, there are people who hate shimmer and shine, but still want their features to stand out. If you belong to this category, try highlighting with concealer instead. Either use a contour palette or a matte concealer — two shades lighter than your skin tone. Begin by applying it with a sponge or stippling brush to the high points of your face. Place the concealer right where the light would hit (in the centre of the forehead, highpoint of the cheeks and under the eyes).

A Shimmery Glow

There are days when you might have finished with your makeup, but may want to add a little something extra. At times like these, lightly dust your face with a powder or cream-to-powder shimmery product along your cheekbones and under your brow bones. Use a fan brush to diffuse the powder for a more subtle effect.

A Glow To The Gods

If you’re looking for a full-face of glam, then this ultimate level of shine is for you. Use a beauty blender or a highlighting brush dampened with setting spray to apply a cream-to-powder highlight for a truly pigmented glow. Start with the tops of your cheekbones and brow bones and keep on applying over your cupid’s bow, down the center and on the tip of your nose and around your temples.

A Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1: Prime
Before you start with your makeup and highlight, you’ll need to work on the base. Start with a light-infusing makeup primer to get that luminous look. Smooth the primer over your skin prior to picking up any other products. This way you will give get a subtle radiant glow while keeping your makeup last throughout the day.

Step 2: Apply Foundation
Opt for a foundation with a radiant finish. Use a foundation blender to apply and blend in the foundation effortlessly for a professional makeup result.

Step 3: Set With Powder
Lock in foundation and dust your skin with a long-wear, radiant-finish face powder. Remember that while you will be all about providing shimmer to the face, the least you’d want on your face is excessive oil settling on the skin.

Step 4: Add Blush And Bronzer
A flat face looks extremely dull — your complexion needs colour, too! Place bronzer forming a 3” shape around the edges of your face, then brush a peachy pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks for a natural-looking flush.

Step 5: Highlight
Time for the (shining) star of the show. Reach for your powder highlighter of choice and pick up the product on a fan brush. Use the brush to dust the powder onto the high points of your face. If you prefer cream or liquid highlighter, put small dots of the shimmery product above your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, on the inner corners of eyes and above your cupid’s bow.

Step 6: Set With A Spray
Continuing to keep formulas consistent, set your makeup with a spray instead of a powder. This way your makeup will last longer and you will look radiant add day/night long.
