Day 2 of Amazon India Fashion Week held on March 15th, 2018 commenced with a colourful display of various hues by designer Rahul Singh. The collection depicted the blend of various traditional crafts from different cities and cultures to create an offbeat look.

Ankita’s collection ‘Saaj’ gives a sneak peek into the eclectic quirky inner kingdom of a girl. The “Saaj woman” is bold, elegant, fearless and possesses a signature unapologetic glamour. Bold graphics in black and white chevrons and other geometric patterns have been embedded in the collection alongside pop orange and fluorescent aqua. The patterns has been developed on cotton hand-weave which was featured on tailored pant-suit, jackets, culottes and skirts in the collection.

Bipasha Basu walked the ramp for Karishma and Deepa Sondhi. Their collection ‘Rasbhari’ celebrates the joy of being a modern, Indian woman. The duo recreated the beauty of nature in all its feminine glory, using a potpourri of crystal beads, French knots, cutdana, threadwork, dori work, glass and metal beads, and a playful twist on tassels that were sprinkled across the entire collection.

Kommal and Ratul Sood’s collection focussed on structured and masculine silhouettes for the contemporary man. Natural handloom silks from Bengal and Bihar were combined with the fine technique of Arashi dying, screen and block printing in graphic designs.

‘Not So Serious’ by Pallavi Mohan was inspired by the myriad colours of Dahlia petals. Carefully worked out details in leather and extensive use of velvet was the prime focus of the collection.

Inspired by his travels to the Balkan Peninsula in Europe, Vineet Bahl’s Autumn Winter 2018 collection underscored the artisanal talent of the region and was drawn heavily from its art, architecture, costumes and societal mannerisms.

Walking the ramp for Pawan Sachdeva was Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan. Pawan’s collection ‘Animate’ brought to life the dynamics of wildlife with beautiful prints and embroidery.

Rohit Kamra’s collection represented everything memorable and fascinating that had been done in the past. It observed the tuning between western ascendancy and Indian silhouettes woven together with the thread of regality. The fabrics were used to deliver a vintage futuristic appeal to traditional classics such as jodhpuris, hunting safaris, Indo-westerns, achkans and sherwanis paired with breeches, polo and rider pants.

Nitin Bal Chauhan’s collection addressed immigration crisis through his collection. Millions of people becoming homeless and their lives getting displaced is the primary emotion expressed by the designer in his latest collection.

The day ended with Rhea Chakraborty walking for Rina Dhaka. The collection featured oversized sleeves, funky headgears and knife pleats.
