Skincare is imperative to everyone regardless of their gender or age. We are taught to take good care of ourselves since our childhood and best believe your granny, that is indeed the advice to swear by. But as kids we are too careless to pay heed to this important aspect of our well being and well as soon as we are adults, needless to say, life happens. Either running to college, or to the office or getting our day to day chores done, we are always on the grind, which is, of course, important and great but in the hustle we mostly forget ourselves. We forget that we deserve the care and attention that we generally tag as ‘pampering ourselves’. It is not a luxury, it’s a basic necessity. And it includes our skin too. But as previously stated, we are always so busy, we barely get any time.

We’ll admit the times are pretty rough right now, but however we also cannot neglect the fact that this ‘quarantine’ might be a blessing in disguise. Really, it is said it takes 2  weeks to develop a habit, so why not use this time to your benefit? Wedding Affair brings to you 5 easy yet healthy skincare habits that you can and you should develop in these 21 days of lockdown.

1. Cleanse your face twice a day

Really utilize this time and focus on yourself. You should try to build a habit of washing your face with a gentle, non-toxic cleanser at least two times a day, once in the morning and then once before going to bed, in order to get rid of any dirt or grime that may exist.

2. Exfoliate

People rarely understand the importance of exfoliating which is major major ignorance on our part. Scrubbing off the dead and dry flaky skin is important and it should be done on a regular basis like once or twice a week. But make sure you don’t overdo it. Moderation is the key.

3. Get plenty of sleep

Everybody knows the secret to beautiful skin is peaceful beauty sleep. Now that you don’t exactly have to wake up early to go to the office, you can use those extra hours to really relax and just enjoy your time in bed. Also, try to build a habit of going to bed early and disconnecting yourself from the gadgets half an hr. before going to sleep for a more peaceful state of mind.

4. Drink water at regular intervals

It’s time you keep a check on your water intake. Always keep a water bottle handy with you and keep on sipping on it time to time at regular intervals. Hydration really helps in keeping your skin and body healthy and also helps fight bumps and pimples. Water brings a healthy glow to one’s skin.

5. Exercise regularly

There’s no room for excuses now. You can steal some time for some indoor workouts now. It can be yoga, basic cardio, anything. Even 10 minutes every day or even 4-6 days a week bring about some good changes and your body will start getting used to the routine.  Exercise also becomes a part of skincare as increases the blood flow throughout the body which clears your skin and helps get rid of toxins in your body.
