Ladakh To Organise Fashion Show At World’s Highest Motorable Road For G20

The Ladakh International Music Festival (LIMF) is returning with a bang in 2023. Ladakh is all set to host a unique fashion show at the world’s highest motorable road, Umling La, which is at a height of 19,022 feet.

The date is not confirmed yet according to the sources it is expected to take place sometime between August 23 and September 3, this year. An initiative from the Ladakh Art and Entertainment Alliance (LAEA), this event will set new benchmarks and echo the spirits of the G20 summit and the true fashionistas.

The show will present women leaders from the member countries of G20 and guest countries, including pageantry crown holders like the Miss Earths, Miss Worlds and Miss Universes, who will be sharing their insights and ideas of empowerment and peace.

According to reports, some of the beauties who will be a part of the festivities are Miss World Bangladesh Rafah Nanjeba Torsa, Miss Earth Germany Annabella Fleck, Miss Earth UK Luissa Burton, Miss Earth USA Lindsey Coffey, Miss Earth Italy Giulia Ragazzini, Miss Universe Japan Yuumi Kato, Miss Earth India Vanshika Parmar, and among others.

Chairman of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Tashi Gyalson is holding the event with utmost grace. He emphasised the importance of linking local values to global decisions and promoting the notion of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ a Sanskrit word which means “the world is one family.”

It is also told that each model who is representing their country will contribute half a kilogram of sand from their own country. Capping off the event, this sand will be mixed with concrete and stored in a pre-made artistic mould of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ which will symbolizes togetherness and mirroring of the G20 ethos.
