Gen Next
Lakmé Fashion Week presented this season’s Gen Next designers. This season’s talent featured three sustainable labels: Dhātu Design Studio, Mishé and The Loom Art. Dhātu Design Studio presented a collection of bomber jackets and co-ord sets crafted out of naturally dyed denim separates. Mishé’s collection ‘Shuwa’ saw unconventional silhouettes made with banana and orange peel fabric. The Loom Art’s collection titled ‘Between the lines’ offered a masterclass in layering. The lineup featured silk jackets, dresses and trousers punctuated with soojni and kantha embroidery.
All About India Showcase
Six leading designers including Abraham & Thakore, Rajesh Pratap Singh for Satya Paul, Urvashi Kaur, Payal Khandwala, Anavila and Suket Dhir presented a show to promote crafts like ikat, block prints, jamdaani, khatwa and shibori techniques. In addition to the show, IMG Reliance is also starting a short term project which will be a collaboration between designers and clusters to help the craftsmen impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Raw Mango
For Raw Mango’s festive collection ‘Moomal’, Sanjay Garg took inspiration from his native state Rajasthan. He revealed that while the collection has been in the works for over a year, it was his travel back home during the lockdown that made him release it now. Perfect for the upcoming festive season, you’ll find long poshak-inspired long blouses, kurtas with choli cuts and typical Rajasthani necklines. What’s more, the lineup featured lightweight lehengas that are trans-seasonal and comfortable to wear throughout the day.
