Lotus India Fashion Week Summer Spring 2020: Overview

Day 4 of Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week concluded in all glamour and glory. The talented diva Kangana Ranaut sashayed the runway in her sassy avatar. Despite their myriad styles, Anamika Khanna’s ubiquitous capes and dhoti drapes, Manish Arora’s kitschy yet international expressions, Pratap’s heady monochromes to Wendell Rodricks free falling silhouettes each one represented the country’s tradition by bridging the chasm between fantasy and functionality. The concept #MyFashionMyTribe presented was well presented by veteran designers like Anamika Khanna, Manish Arora, Rajesh Pratap Singh and Wendell Rodricks on the ultimate day giving it a befitting end.

On the whole, numerous unique trends were seen emerging at the Lotus India Fashion Week this season. The fashion show opened with Chanderi fabric and Indian handloom by designer Pratima Pandey. Classic layered kurta, drapes, saree and dresses were the highlight of the show on Day 1 of the event. Ragini Ahuja presented her collection ‘Ikai’. Designer Amita Gupta presented his collection while celebrating handloom weaving and fashion as a fusion of diverse woven textiles translating into divine garments. Designers like Nidhi Yasha, Samant Chauhan and Rimzim Dadu added oodles of exuberance to the event with the respective collections.  

Day 2 of LMIFW SS’2020 started with theme ‘Hues of Spring’. Illustrious designers like Falguni and Shane and designers Sanjukta Dutta, Parul & Ashie, Yogita Kadam and Priya Machineni presented their unique collections. Actress Soha Ali Khan walked the runway looking elegant in a purple ensemble complemented by green necklace. The actress looked absolutely ethereal. Shades of dark blue and light blue filled the runway with vibrance. 

On Day 3, ace designer Nithiya Reddy presented her exquisite designs on the Lotus runway. The day continued with more designers showcasing their talent on the Runway with their staggering designs. Nidhika Shekhar’s Collection was inspired by the women who recognize, embrace and celebrity their identity, i.e. “Periods”. Colour palette and fabric which has been used to depict the journey of a female through this cycle. Like Organzas in pure white, organza Khadi and pure linen with delicate embroidery and cut work. Ace designer Payal Jain also presented her spectacular collection.
