Apart from tanned skin, suntan, oily skin, acne and blackheads are problems that we face during the warm months but the good news is that proper care can give your skin the much-needed bridal glow. Add a touch of glam to your wedding look and read on as Wedding Affair brings to you the best and easy to whip up face packs that will not only soothe and pamper your skin but will also leave it smooth and glowing.

The Magic Of Bentonite Clay

Also referred to as healing clay, bentonite clay thoroughly detoxifies your skin by purging out all the dirt, grime and toxins from your skin. This healing clay will not only reduce inflammation and redness but will also lessen the appearance of blackheads and open pores. A must-have for those who have acne-prone skin, bentonite clay can be used in either one of the two ways.

Mix one to two tablespoons of bentonite clay with rosewater to form a paste without lumps. Make sure that the paste isn’t too runny. Apply the paste to your face and let it dry completely before washing it off. This mask will not only even out your skin tone but will also control the overproduction of sebum.

The Soothing Sandalwood Mask

Sandalwood has been used since ancient times in temples and homes for its aromatic properties. The powder extracted from sandalwood is loaded with skin benefits. A sandalwood mask not only combats ageing and tanning but also works wonders on acne-prone skin by controlling excess sebum production and lightening acne scars. Mix sandalwood powder with rosewater and apply it on your face and neck area. Wait for it to dry before washing it off with cold water. This remedy will not only brighten your skin but will also help in shrinking your pores. Add a pinch of turmeric powder to amp up the acne fighting properties of this mask. Be stringent while adding turmeric powder as it can lend its colour to your skin. You can also mix equal quantities of fuller’s earth and sandalwood powder. But avoid applying this if you have dry skin.

The Good Old Gram Flour

Gram flour is the best kept beauty secret that has been passed on from generation to generation. The zinc found in gram flour can not only help in fighting acne but also aid in lightening acne marks. Gram flour mixed with turmeric powder also acts as a natural exfoliant, successfully declogging pores and leaving the skin soft and radiant. Mix equal quantities of gram flour and turmeric powder and add it with some curd to form a paste. Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice if you possess oily skin. Gently massage the mixture onto your skin and leave it on for 15-20 minutes for the mask to work its magic before washing it off. This age-old mask is the perfect solution for all your skin troubles.

The Acrid Neem

This multi-utilitarian herb can be consumed, applied on wounds or even converted into a nutritious drink. From getting rid of acne to treating a rash or a wound, neem does it all as it is known to possess antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antifungal properties.  You can either apply the neem powder mixed with other ingredients or use it directly mixed with rosewater.

The Evergreen Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has been used since aeons to cure various skin related problems. Aloe Vera is an excellent moisturiser as it hydrates the skin without making it appear oily and keeps it looking fresh all day long. It also has anti-ageing properties and helps in lightening the skin tone. You can either extract the gel from a aloe vera leaf or purchase it.
