Neil Nitin Mukesh and Rukmini Sahay tied the knot on February 9 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Udaipur, in a royal wedding. The three day wedding celebration concluded with the couple getting hitched.

The wedding ensembles for the couple were designed by Sarath Krishnan. Neil Nitin Mukesh adorned a traditional rajwaad look created by the combination of pure fabrics and handwork employing the use of authentic work of aari, pure zari, kardana, resham, nakshi etc. Rukmini Sahay’s dress had pure silk fabric combined with traditional hand thread work and elements like stones, resham and sadhi.

The festivities for the day began in the morning that included intimate haldi celebration, beer pong sessions, zorbing ball, caricature artists, jenga blocks and tarot reading sessions. The evening witnessed their nuptial ceremony.

The groom Neil Nitin Mukesh killed it with swag as he was driven to the venue in a vintage car. This was accompanied by Nasik Dhol that made the baraatis shake a leg. Naman Mathur was leading the baarat along with Neil’s nephews. The entrance witnessed turbaned guards upraising NR emblem royal flags. Neil then mounted upon a silver encrusted dome that was bejeweled with crystals and white carnations on a maroon velvet backdrop. On the other hand, Rukmini reached the venue in a crystal and mogra curtain adorned doli with baby pink chiffon drapes.

Neil stepped in at the beats of ‘Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Main Khayal’ to meet Rukmini halfway who made an entry at the song ‘Chaand Si Mehbooba’ to exchange the garlands. 32 Kathakali dancers in mermaid costumes entertained the guests as Neil and Rukmini indulged in exchanging the varmaalas perching atop an elevated hydraulic stage that rose to the lit up skies amidst sparkling firework displays and pyro lights.

The two families exchanged gifts as Rukmini was gifted an heirloom gold set by Neil’s father and Rukmini’s brother gifted Neil a sherwani. The couple was pronounced husband and wife and that marked the onset of their journey together. This was followed by a cocktail party and everyone let their hair down.
