A young couple in Chhindwara district of MP has to go through institutional quarantine soon after they have wed each other. Orders for quarantine also came for almost 100 other family members and contacts. The bride’s CISF staffer brother-in-law tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday – the day of the wedding. Three facilities in the Chhindwara district including the district hospital are taking care of the entire wedding party attendees.
While confirming the institutional quarantining of the couple, the Chhindwara Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Shahi told The New Indian Express that the CISF personnel posted in Delhi hails from Chhindwara district. He attended the MP couple’s wedding with more than 100 other guests.
Last week, the CISF staffer entered the district and his screened at the Chhindwara-Hoshangabad district border. He subsequently stayed at his home in Junnardeo area of Chhindwara and then visited relatives in Parasia area also. Later, he travelled to his in-laws place in Chhindwara town for attending the May 26 marriage of sister-in-law. (Source: NDTV)
Chhindwara collector Saurabh Suman said on MP couple matter, “Further action has been taking place according to the protocol. First contact tracing is also taking place. We have received the information that few contacts are in Lalbag and Ekta Colony in Junnardeo of Chhindwara. It is being verified and contact tracing is going on.”
“Three-four days back, he started showing COVID-like symptoms, after which his sampling was done and he was shifted to the Chhindwara District Hospital. His test report came COVID-19 positive on Tuesday, exactly at the time of wedding which he was attending,” he said.
Fear and gloom descended over the festivities at a wedding hall in MP’s Chindwara district soon after. The news of the guest who had attended the ceremony was Covid-19 positive, spread fear among the guests. This was a nightmare the doomed over the MP couple’s post-wedding plans.
