Virgil Abloh, the creative director of French fashion house Louis Vuitton (LV), debuts his very first collaboration collection for LV. The brand new NIGO x Virgil Abloh LV² collection’s first drop celebrates contemporary takes on classic LV silhouettes and designs. The pairing of these two icons excites us all for all the right reasons. They’ve established themselves as two of the most singular voices in the contemporary menswear canon. Their style is of projecting visions as iconoclastic as they are reverent of the genre’s history and codes.

This LV² collection signifies the collaboration of LV with Japanese designer Nigo. The latest collection amalgamates classic Vuitton signatures with elevated off-duty denim.  The signatures include the Vuitton monogram, the holdalls, the Damier check among others. This indicates the collection includes heavily printed jeans, jackets and bucket hats. It also features chunky lace-up ankle boots and loafers.

The Drop

LV

Drop 1 of the standalone collection most notably introduces an interesting mix of Monogram and Damier check patterns. Hence, the graphic elements are also incorporated to reference and shatter the boundaries associated with Virgil and NIGO’s streetwear ties (Source: Hypebeast). Also, the “LV Made” duck is the symbol of this collaboration, a re-interpretation of the world of Nigo and his “Human Made” signature, transformed in Louis Vuitton style. (Source: LV)

But accessories are where the ‘hypiest’ pieces lie (no doubt soon to get the “seen-everywhere” Instagram treatment): think deconstructed bucket hats, kitschy wristwatches, and boxy patchwork satchels. Teamwork is dreamwork. (Source: Wonderland Magazine)

Wedding Affair recommends styling this collection on the streets whenever possible. The leather goods are absolutely amazing and the designs are so attractive. Also, this particular Drop 1 of the NIGO x Virgil Abloh Louis Vuitton LV² collection is now available. Get the interesting collaboration at select locations and on Louis Vuitton’s website.
