The epic war film Panipat: The Great Betrayal released just today but the film couldn’t quite hit the right chords of the audience. Panipat had been one of the most awaited releases of the year but unfortunately it couldn’t make as much of an impact as it was expected to. It touches the boundaries of politics and depicts a love story between Sadashiv Rao Bhau and Parvati Bai. The love story that unfolds between Sadashiv Rao and Parvati bai played by Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon respectively is one of the best things that the film has to offer.

Apart from this love story, the film doesn’t achieve much. The film is relatively lengthy and even then it fails to hit the right notes. Although, Kriti Sanon did a commendable job at playing Parvati Bai, the overall impact of the film falls flat on the face. She completely justifies her character. It almost seems that she seamlessly performed. It is not just Kriti Sanon whose acting skills needs to be appreciated in Panipat. Arjun Kapoor, as well as Sanjay Dutt, also pulled off their roles with great finesse. Arjun Kapoor completely stole the attention single-handedly in the war sequence by the end of the film.

In terms of creating the historic grandeur, the film manages to fair well. Designer Neeta Lulla and the production designer Nitin Chandrakant Desai did wonders to the film. Every single scene looked impeccably brilliant. With all the massive efforts combined, the film still couldn’t prove to bring the audience to the edge of their seats.
