Panipat Trailer Launch

Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt Starrer Panipat’s trailer is out now. The film is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker who has directed iconic films like Lagaan and Jodha Akbar.

The film is based on the third battle of Panipat. Arjun Kapoor portrays the role of Sadashivroa Bhau, the warrior that led the Maratha army in war. Kriti Sanon is seen as his wife, Parvati Bai and Sanjay Dutt is the main antagonist, the king of Durrani Empire, Ahmad Shah Abdali.

The film is set in the 18th century India when Marathas were the most powerful forces. But their happiness is short-lived when Ahmad Shah Abdali plans to attack the Maratha kingdom. The Maratha king orders Sadashivrao Bhau to lead the army into battle and stop the Durrani King.

The trailer opens with Parvati Bai narrating laurels about the bravery of Marathas and is followed by a gruesome battle sequence. Halfway through the trailer, we are introduced to Ahmad Shah Abdali who wants to capture the Maratha Kingdom. The trailer looks promising and the acting is also quite convincing. The trailer then moves onto showing a glimpse of the love story of Parvati Bai and Sadashivrao Bhau. In the end, both the lead actors come face-to-face and what happens next, we will have to find out in theatres on December 6, 2019.

The lead cast took to Instagram to reveal the first look of the film and their characters. While the trailer looks intriguing, what we cannot miss is the striking resemblance of Arjun Kapoor’s character to that of Ranveer Singh’s Peshwa Bajirao in Bajirao Mastani. Also, Sanjay Dutt’s character resembles Alaudin Khilji’s character portrayal in Padmavaat by Ranveer Singh.

With Ashutosh Gowariker’s direction, larger than life sets and an appealing star cast, we can’t wait to watch what Panipat has in store for the audience. Don’t forget to watch this historical period drama in theatres near you.
