Learn about designer Rahul Mishra’s latest collection ‘Pale Blue Dot’ presented at the Paris Haute Couture Week!
Indian fashion designer Rahul Mishra presented his Couture Spring 2025 collection ‘Pale Blue Dot’ at the Paris Haute Couture Week on January 27th, 2025. Drawing inspiration from the famous photograph taken by NASA’s Voyager 1 in 1990, where Earth appears like a tiny blue dot in the expansiveness of space, it idealises the concept of fragility. It highlights how our joys and sorrows are just a speck of dust in the grandeur of the universe. Along with focusing on environmental concerns such as pollution, climate change and erosion of natural habitat, it also serves as a glimmer of hope for a better future.

Corroborating the metaphor in the garments, the palette of the collection features muted colours such as black, grey and gold and motifs of buildings and tree of life. Some of the striking features of his creation showcased how the cities would look if nature overtook them and a meticulous embroidery of the Tree of Life amalgamating with the uterus. Philanthropist and entrepreneur Mona Patel attended the show in Paris adorning an ensemble by the designer. While Canadian model Coco Roacha opened the show for the designer, social media influencers such as Ankush Bahuguna and stylists such as Rhea Kapoor and Tanya Ghavri were among the front-row attendees of the show.
In a recent interview, the designer also shared how he dealt with the grief of losing his father just a month ago while preparing for the show. He shared how he first thought of not going through with the collection but was inspired by his team to move forward as it is something his father would have wanted as well.
