Samsung Electronics unveiled its latest series of epic phones at its Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event. The South Korean giant introduced Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+, the latest flagship devices that empower you to express yourself. Made for the way we live now, Galaxy S21 is loaded with state-of-the-art innovations so you can make the most of every moment. The brand also launched its Galaxy Buds Pro TWS wireless earbuds and Galaxy SmartTag Bluetooth tracker at the event.
The new flagship series debuts a head-turning, iconic design, an epic pro-grade camera for users of any skill level and the most advanced processor ever in a Galaxy device. And each device offers the connectivity, power and performance that only Samsung can deliver. The Galaxy S21 series will be open for pre-booking in India from January 15. Consumers can pre-book all three variants – Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 in India. Prices start at Rs 69,999 for the S21 phone, going up to Rs 1,16,999 for the most expensive S21 Ultra version, which has 16GB RAM. Pre-booked consumers will get a free Galaxy Smart Tag and a Samsung E-Shop voucher worth Rs 10,000.
“We are living in a mobile-first world, and with so many of us working remotely and spending more time at home, we wanted to deliver a smartphone experience that meets the rigorous multimedia demands of our continuously changing routines,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics. “We also recognize the importance of choice, especially now, and that’s why the Galaxy S21 series gives you the freedom to choose the best device for your style and needs.”
The new series continues the company’s tradition of bringing three distinct models in its flagship smartphone series. Hence, it is just like the Galaxy S20 series launched last year. The Galaxy S21 family consists of the regular Galaxy S21 as well as the Galaxy S21+. And also the Galaxy S21 Ultra. All three models come with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and flaunt an all-new camera housing. This Samsung calls “Contour Cut Camera”. The Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+ in the series share an identical triple rear camera setup. While the Galaxy S21 Ultra houses a superior, quad rear camera setup with a 108-megapixel primary sensor. The Galaxy S21 Ultra also comes with S Pen support. The entire Galaxy S21 series includes an IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, meanwhile, comes with a 6.8-inch display with 10Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The camera setup includes 108MP primary, 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto and 10MP 10x telephoto units, with up to 100x digital AI zoom, 4K videos at 60fps, 8K videos at 30fps, 33MP 8K video snaps and more camera-related features, including AI computational night photography. It also features a headlining colour – Phantom Black, and prices for it will begin at $1,199. The full set of specs will include the usually superlative scales of RAM, too.
