Most of us have a skincare routine that we stick to out of habit — it’s all about a repetition of steps you have to do day in and day out. But what if you are you repeating the wrong steps? Wedding Affair brings to you some very common mistakes that we all are guilty of committing. Brides try to avoid these blunders.

Not Getting Enough Sleep

Eating a Bad Diet

What is good for the heart is good for the skin. The tri-colour salad approach makes sure that you are consuming a bunch of colors — red cabbage, green lettuce etc. Eat veggies that have a lot of colour. Nature colour codes them for us. The more colors you eat, the better.

Not Moisturizing Oily Skin

Regardless of your skin type, it’s imperative that you moisturise daily and apply a heavier cream at night. It’s a common misconception that those with an oily skin should avoid moisturizers. In fact, it’s vital that even oily skin gets moisture because without it, skin will overcompensate for the loss of hydration [with more oil], leading to breakouts and an uneven skin texture. Take note: Moisturizing adds water to the skin, not oil.

You’re Lazy About Sunscreen

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen every single day; rain, hail, or shine! There is no better anti-aging topical prevention than sunscreen, and cloudy days are just as aging for your skin as sunny days. Not reapplying SPF too. This mistake is gonna cost you a lot in the near future.

It’s one thing to apply SPF in the morning, but please keep in mind that SPF lasts merely hours and therefore requires applications throughout the day, especially during times when sun exposure is at its highest.

You’re Stopping At The Jawline

Extend the love and care you apply to your face to your neck and chest as these areas have often been forgotten and may have accrued more damage than your face. Who wants a gorgeous face and a mediocre neck and décolleté? Avoid this mistake at all costs.
