Dark spots caused due to hyper-pigmentation, generally occur during one’s age or sun exposure. Skin traumas such as acne, pimples, blackheads and whiteheads are some of the other common problems that leave dark marks on your skin. You need to drink loads of water and slather your skin with sunscreen. Avoid eating junk and oily food. They trigger acne as well. Lemon Face Pack

Squeeze out the juice from the lemon and add honey to it. Mix them together. Apply this runny mixture all over your face and leave it on for at least 10-15 minutes. Then wash it off with lukewarm water followed by splashing your face with cold water. Gently pat your skin dry using a towel and then use a moisturiser of your choice. Repeat this once every day till your wedding day. When applied topically, citric acid present in lemon helps to lighten the dark spots with its bleaching properties. Lemon also helps to unclog pores and shrink them considerably. Honey in this face pack will help to keep the skin hydrated and moisturised as it is an emollient. It also known for its healing properties.

Sandalwood Face Pack

Make a fine, smooth paste of sandalwood powder, fresh lemon juice and glycerin. Add rose water to adjust the consistency of the paste. Apply the paste all over your face and specifically on the dark spots. Leave on for a few minutes. After it dries, wash off with lukewarm water and then moisturise the skin. Use this face pack at least 2-3 times a week. If you have dry skin, do not repeat it more than twice a week. Use a good moisturiser after washing your face. Sandalwood is known for its skin care properties and has been revered by Ayurveda since ages. It reduces dark spots and blemishes by improving circulation. This also gives the skin a beautiful glow. Many actresses swear by this mask for their glowing skin. Glycerin will keep the skin hydrated while the rose water will help the sandalwood powder in enhancing the complexion

Aloe Vera Face Pack

Extract fresh aloe gel from a leaf. Take enough to cover your entire face in a separate bowl and add the rose water to this. Mix well. Apply this all over the face and let it dry for about 15 minutes. Before washing, massage for 2-3 minutes and then wash it off. This pack can also be used to lighten the complexion. It is best to use this face pack 3-4 times a week. You can also use it every day if you want to. Aloe vera has abundant medicinal values along with possessing a number of healing properties. It works wonders for the removal of dark spots as it contains aloesin, which also inhibits the over-production of melanin and hence prevents ageing.
