Renowned fashion designer Suneet Varma has made a glamorous comeback in Mumbai, captivating fashion enthusiasts with his latest collection in the esteemed Fashion Connect Season 20 Grand Finale on March 12, 2025, at the Fairmont Mumbai. The event celebrated some of India’s finest talent in fashion like every year.

“Mumbai has always been a favourite city of mine to be at, to party at, to dress in. Some of the coolest and best-dressed people are in that city who are trendsetters, and it’s always a pleasure to show and sell here,” said Suneet Varma. He presented two of his most celebrated collections at this year’s event. An amalgamation of “Nazm” and “Quetzalli”, the showcase was a special collaboration with PATRÓN, the world’s #1 super-premium tequila. It created a perfect marriage between couture and luxury spirits, celebrating innovation and creation.

“Nazm” is a beautiful fusion of India’s rich decorative arts and modern couture—a collection for the young, sexy, sophisticated and fun. Featuring hand-embroidered appliqué, lavish metallic tissue, organza in pastel and chiffon in an elegant palette of midnight blue, burgundy, silver and jewel tones, the collection exuded grace and elegance. The collaboration with PATRÓN  was inspired by the designer’s visit to the PATRÓN  Hacienda in Mexico. “Quetzalli” blended Mexican artistry and Indian craftsmanship to create a sensual yet elegant collection featuring intricate lacework and sheer fabrics—an embodiment of both the spirit of PATRÓN tequila and Suneet Verma’s couture vision.

Mumbai,” said Suneet Varma. “This collection was my personal homage to India’s rich artistic legacy, reimagined for a contemporary audience. It was about the modern Indian woman—confident, sensual, and unapologetically herself. I hoped each piece would become a cherished heirloom, celebrating individuality.” The couturier has always pushed boundaries with his creations, focusing on three-dimensional embroidery and exquisite embellishment.
