Designer Tarun Tahiliani Presenting his collection @ FDCI India Couture Week 2019 (9)

The closing day of India Couture Week celebrated the aura of a bride in all its glory. Ace designer Tarun Tahiliani showcased his collection ‘Bloom’. The designer captured the spirit of a new Indian bride who is just like a modern goddess and who envisions her wedding as an extension of her personality.

Bloom captures the metamorphosis of the Indian bride with a synthesis of different cultures, a reflection of today’s generation. Bloom represents the delicate confluence of artistic traditions and the pragmatism of the times we live in. And of course, flowers,” said the designer about his collection ‘Bloom’.

His collection included more than 80 pieces of bridal couture, occasion and festive wear. Lightweight lehengas, shararas, peplum, blouses, concept saris, structured drapes, anarkalis and fusion-style jumpsuits oozed out the sheer vibe of celebration.

The closing of the show was marked by a first-time ever at the ICW that a “non-show-stopper-show-stopper” sashayed the runway. Clad in an immaculate white tulle gown complemented with an elegant netmask, the designer’s showstopper looked absolutely resplendent.

The colour palette for the new bride as displayed in Tarun Tahiliani’s collection included soft pastels of peach, dusty rose, pink blush, coral, teal, vintage gold and aqua. Sparkling Swarovski crystals amped up the look of each lehenga.

Speaking of the association with Swarovski the designer said “We’ve worked with Swarovski since the ’90s. This successful long-term association over the years has witnessed some of the most iconic, luxurious and memorable creations made with crystals from Swarovski. We Indians love the winking light, the luminescence and sparkle of a diamond, especially for weddings. And so, it is an honour once again to collaborate with Swarovski to create magical garments using traditional Indian techniques.”
