It all started when Sukhmani attended her best friend’s wedding in Hyderabad in March 2019. An arranged meeting with Kirath and an instant connection shed off Sukhmani’s tiredness after a long flight from America. They shared stories, food and coffee. This chance meeting that was supposed to be for half an hour continued for more than two hours.

Sukhmani flew back to the USA two days after meeting Kirath. But that was only the beginning of a lifelong commitment towards love and togetherness. “People are always critical of long-distance relationships but when you meet the person you are meant to spend your life with, no distance is too far,” said Sukhmani. “It was an adventure from the moment we met. She, a tech consultant and I, an International level skater, we were different yet alike,” expressed Kirath. Sukhmani and Kirath took their first step towards marriage at an intimate roka ceremony at Park Hyatt Hyderabad. The decor was done by Mintu Surana and the ceremony was beautifully planned by The Show which added an extra charm to the entire celebration. Sukhmani looked stunning in a gorgeous lehenga by Mayyur Girotra and jewellery by Motiwala and Sons, Karol Bagh. The makeup was done by Amrit Kaur Artistry. On the other side, Kirath looked very handsome in a midnight blue bandhgala by Diwan Saheb. The grand celebration was graced by the presence of singer Sukh-E.

The bride and groom wanted their functions to be very intimate by adding a touch of their personages to all their ceremonies. The team at Baraati Inc made the larger than life concepts a reality with sincere attention to the details. The bride wanted a fairytale wedding where everything that she touched upon was brought to life. She had the best of decorations, grand outfits and a folkloric bidaai like a princess.

The couple decided on having a destination wedding and picked the pink city for its old-world charm and majestic architecture. All the functions were hosted at the beautiful Fairmont Jaipur and Le Meridien. The celebrations began with a grand welcome of the groom’s family by the bride’s family loved ones at the venue with regional tappe boliyan artistes introducing members from both the bride’s and groom’s sides. The groom’s squad wore quirky, customised t-shirts explaining their relationship with the groom. Later that day, the couple had a combined haldi ceremony with turmeric and yellow flower petals. The venue was beautifully decorated by Fiestro Events. They matched the decor with the bride’s bright, yellow lehenga from La Robe by Shubhika. The couple hosted an aloha themed party for youngsters in the evening. The bride owned the night in a sequinned, floral gown by Monisha Jaising.

The ring ceremony started with a lot of pomp and show. Kirath entered on the famous track ‘Singh is Kinng’. Sukhmani, on the other hand, made a grand entry with International singer Mickey Singh. They both entered together with Mickey singing the hit ‘Rani Mehlan Di’. The ring ceremony commenced with a twelve-tier chandelier cake that the duo cut with a sword, followed by introductory dance performances by family members, choreographed by Surjeet sir.

The performances hit a new high with DJ Ice’s tracks, Mickey Singh and Bally Sagoo’s live performances. The highlight of the evening was a rotating ice-sculpture shaped like a ring, beautifully crafted by Imagine Ice. The bride looked like a vision in a Michael Cinco gown. To top it up, the designer himself made a special mention of the beautiful bride with a beautiful message on Instagram.

The couple decided on having a destination wedding and picked the pink city for its old-world charm and majestic architecture. All the functions were hosted at the beautiful Fairmont Jaipur. The festivities started on September 30 and lasted till October 2, 2019.

The wedding kick-started early with a chooda ceremony and a baraat procession for which all male members wore colour-coordinated Nehru jackets and turbans. The bride and groom wore outfits by Rimple and Harpreet Narula.

Sukhmani wore a champagne colour lehenga which contrasted beautifully with her massive gourd green polki set.

The grand finale of the three-day festivities concluded with a Sufi Night by Harshdeep Kaur.

The bride and groom entered on a reflective pool, made with special permissions on Fairmont property. The bride wore a diamond, gold, sapphire and kundan blouse which weighed almost 8.5 kilograms. She paired it with a beautiful Rimple and Harpreet Narula skirt.
