Designers from around the world spelt magic on the runway shows by their top-notch designs and astounding creativity. In a play on diversity, Bibhu Mohapatra offered both traditional and sleek gowns, as in a blush off-shoulder number with a barely-there string along the neckline, and unconventional options you wouldn’t, at first, expect from the brand, like the sharp pleated top and skirt overlays that play on a balance of structure and movement. With this season of the New York Fashion Week, designer Prabal Gurung also celebrated the 10th anniversary of his label with a collection called ‘Who gets to be American?’ Gurung’s collection featured a variety of nods towards classic American sartorial style, including raw denim cargo bottoms and embroidered roses, the official flower of the United States.
