It’s every girl’s dream to have long and luscious locks. Maintaining long hair does take a lot of hardwork and patience no doubt, but the outcome is worth all the pain. Here are a few tips that will help you grow out and maintain your hair.
-
Trim your hair every three to four months, as and when required. Trimming your hair will help you get rid of split ends and help maintain a healthy length. But don’t trim them too often or too much.
-
Massage your scalp at least twice a week to strengthen your roots and nourish the hair. Massaging increases blood circulation which will lead to hair growth.
-
Don’t wash your hair everyday as it will strip your hair off the natural oils that the scalp produce. Also, apply shampoo on the scalp and conditioner on the ends of your hair. While drying your hair, don’t be harsh as it might lead to frizz and split ends. Gently let your hair air dry.
-
Never brush your hair when it is wet rather gently run your fingers through them or use a wide-toothed comb. Remember to always comb your hair from the tips and not from the roots.
-
Avoid using heat tools, even if you do use them always apply a heat protectant prior to using them. Don’t put up your hair in tight hairstyles as they might put excess pressure on the roots which can lead to hair fall.
-
Put your hair in a protective hairstyle when you go to sleep, it can either be a braid or a loose bun. To maintain a long and healthy mane, drink a lot of water and consume a diet rich in vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K.
-
Last but not the least, exercise daily to increase blood circulation which in turn will make your hair grow longer and stronger.
