Urwerk is drawing the conclusion to its iconic watch model UR-210. The ground-breaking design comes to an end with the unveiling of its final edition ‘UR-201 Last Edition’. Initially, the watch was launched in 2012 and now the brand is marking the end of the model’s run with the Urwerk UR-210 Last Edition. This final edition watch is cased in titanium and steel with black PVD coating. The dial comes in black and ruthenium-coating and also lume-filled red numerals on the hands. The dial is further accentuated with green and orange indexes. Also, the dial is rendered into a watch with a black leather strap.

The strikingly symmetrical timepiece also boasts the retrograde hand feature. It counts the minutes until it reaches 60 and then flies back to zero with an audible ‘snap’, thus, highlighting the beginning of each new hour. (Source: Hypebeast)

Co-founder Martin Frei admits that the inimitable case wears its inspiration on its sleeve but it’s equal parts form and function, Hypebeast also mentions. “There is a certain amount of G-SHOCK in this design element,” Frei told and Hypebeast reports. “I like a three-dimensional topography of the case because it encourages both the eyes and hands to interact with it.”

In reaching the end of the line for the model, it bears looking back at the original UR-210 Maltese Falcon. Why that nickname? Looking back at what Hodinkee has mentioned before, the minute hand of the original model was inspired by the beak of the mythical bird. You can still see that motif continued onto the Last Edition. Team Wedding Affair is sure that a groom will be delighted upon receiving the last edition of an iconic model as his wedding gift.
