Vivienne Westwood held their first ever show in India in Mumbai last night. Kareena Kapoor, Radhika Merchant, Janhvi Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur and many more attended.
Another feather on the luxury couture in India, London headquartered Vivienne Westwood held their first ever fashion show in the country last night in the heart of Mumbai. The night was glamourised with the finest creation of the esteemed label and the presence of Bollywood stars dazzling in the designer’s collection. Partnering with the Ministry of Textiles and the Government of Maharashtra, the show featured Vivienne Westwood’s SS25 collection along with a capsule collection featuring khadi and chanderi silk.
Against the iconic Gateway of India, the show was held in an open space, despite the city’s infamous humidity and heat. The show gave a new outlook for the global fashion landscape to look at Indian textile and fashion as the finest handwoven Chanderi silks and khadi fabrics took the centre stage. Myriad shades of springs were paired with sheer silhouettes, contemporary cuts with corsets and sculpted skirts.

Kareena Kappor Khan is on a fashion roll, delivering one after another fine looks on the carpets. Last night she donned a maroon off-shoulder thigh-high slit Vivienne Westwood gown, looking stunning as always.
Radhika Merchant, whose photos at the event are yet to be found, gave some serious fashion goals in an archival Vivienne Westwood corset, paired with a handwoven chanderi saree. She looked like a renaissance painting in the beautiful fusion attire styled by Rhea Kapoor.
Janhvi Kapoor exuded elegance in a sea-green thigh-high slit gown with a bejewelled top. Aditya Roy Kapur also turned heads in the effortless chic shirt, Afghani pants and blazer combo. Among other celebs there were Mira kapoor, Disha Patani, Uorfi Javed, Huma Qureshi and many more.
