The ‘Shershaah’ couple Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra became the latest to join the ‘Just Married’ on Feb 7th 2023, against the beautiful backdrop of uber-luxurious Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The royal wedding saw big names in Bollywood — actor Shahid Kapoor with his wife Mira, Karan Johar, celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra, Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, actor Juhi Chawla with husband Jay Mehta. The royal wedding was kept under the wraps with a ‘no-phone, non-disclosure policy signed by the attendees.

The Preparations

Speculations reached the confirmatory bar as soon as the bride and groom, with their respective families, were seen boarding flights to Jaisalmer. Reportedly, Advani-Malhotra began dating in early 2019 in a perfectly well-kept relationship — never denied, never accepted.

The pre-wedding ceremonies began Feb 5th with haldi, mehendi, and sangeet in the presence of close family and friends. A Punjabi wedding can always go right with its music and ballyhoo. The spectacular laser lights kept brimming off the palace, lighting the dark night sky so that anyone could feel the rolling drums of a big fat wedding in Jaisalmer. The duo danced the night away to many of their Bollywood tunes, including Kaala Chashma, Raatan Lambiyan, Rangisari and many more.

Posting on social media for official announcements seems to be the current trend amongst stars tying knots, as one came with the duo blushing in love at each other, captioned “Ab humari permanent booking hogayi hai…”. In the posts, Advani looked straight out of the fairytale — bedecked in sparkling diamonds from head-to-toe on a blush pink sequined lehenga from Manish Malhotra, with real Swarovski crystals embellished to create Roman architecture — a shared love for the couple. Her contemporary bride with minimal makeup. As per kalira designer Mrinalini Chandra, the bespoke pair sported a thoughtful dedication to Malhotra’s late dog Oscar along with their respective initials. On the other hand, Malhotra set some serious style goals for grooms-to-be with his wedding looks in as Manish Malhotra sequined ivory sherwani and with Rajwada kantha haar and ring. The three-leaved floral sarpech on his turban also made a subtle statement.

The wedding was designed by Altair Decor by Janki Desai. Posting as stories, the ‘Indoo ki Jawaani’ actor about her gratification for the dream wedding.

The couple will be hosting not one but two grand receptions in their respective hometowns — Delhi and Mumbai.
