Ace Indian fashion designer Masaba Gupta got lucky the second time as she tied the knot with the love of her life Satyadeep Misra in a small and simple wedding on January 27th 2023, in the presence of her immediate family. She took to social media to reveal her marriage and wrote, “Married my ocean of calm this morning…” followed by a series of other posts with family. What came as a sartorial surprise to many took the internet by storm, with #hashtag masaba trending once more.
Satyadeep Misra is an Indian actor whom she met on the sets of her Netflix show Masaba Masaba — a fictional take on the designer’s life herself, where her now husband played the role of her ex-husband.
The bride wore a barfi pink raw silk lehenga with gold embroidery, paired with two dupattas to add layering for the bridal wear — a lime green dupatta with a wallflower print and sequinned border and the other a rani pink with open hearts embellishments. The delicate pastel colours added an old-world charm with a modern twist. The bride donned minimalistic make-up with a thick line of kajal, a chaand-taara headpiece, and her mother’s old jewellery for her sringar. Matching the vibe, the groom wore an opalescent pink silhouette kurta-pyjama from House of Masaba like the rest of the family that attended the wedding. The theme for the wedding had lots of yellow tones. In the announcement pictures, there is Manjit Bawa’s painting in a haldi yellow colour, and the woven palm leaves paint the backdrop with an element of surprise. Later Masaba was escorted by her father, Sir Vivian Richards, to the reception party the couple hosted for friends and family. The guestlist included Sonam Kapoor, Konkana Sen, Dia Mirza, Amol Parashar, and Alia Bhatt’s mother, Soni Razdan.
Congratulations poured in for the couple from celebs like Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani, and Bipasha Basu, wishing nothing but love. The designer also announced the launch of her new wedding collection with her wedding pictures.
