Be it pollution, heat  or in case of winters – chilly winds, our skin goes through so much everyday. It is no news that we need to take care of our skin, but brides need to take extra caution because she is the centre of attention of the big day. To help all bride-to-be with the perplexing decision as to what to use for a healthy skin, here are eight skin care essentials that you must include in your beauty regime.

Cleanser: The first step in your skin care routine is using a good cleanser. An effective cleanser goes a long way to remove all the dirt and grime from your face. Choose a cleanser that does the job without drying your skin. Use it twice a day, in the morning and before going to bed.

Exfoliator: To get even and soft skin, it is necessary to exfoliate to get rid of the dead skin cells that clog your pores. Failing to exfoliate can cause acne, blackheads and whiteheads. Make sure that you exfoliate your face at least two to three times a week.

Toner: Most people skip this step in their skin care routine, but ideally one should not. Toner removes any leftover dirt along with balancing the pH of the skin. The best part of including this in your regime is that is helps in closing the pores, making it the best friend for people with oily skin.

Moisturiser: To avoid dry and flaky skin it is essential to use a moisturiser. Even those with oily-skin should not skip this step. It is like food to your skin and in cold weather, when our skin becomes so dry using a moisturiser becomes all the more important.

Facial oil: Beauty enthusiasts swear by this product and consider it a skin care essential. Mix two to three drops of oil with your moisturiser and massage the mixture onto your face. You can also apply it directly depending on the oil you are using.

Sunscreen: No, you are not allowed to skip your sunscreen whatever the weather outside is. Be it summers, winters or even a rainy day, UV rays pass through the clouds to harm your skin which makes it extremely necessary to use a sunscreen irrespective of the weather. So don’t forget to apply some before you step outside the house. These days sunscreen creams come with added benefits like moisturisers, making it a win win situation!

Lip balm: Skin care does not mean just the face. Chapped lips is in fact one of the most common issues in winter. Use a hydrating lip balm to keep your lips soft, pink and supple. A lip balm with SPF is truly a cherry on the cake.

Body lotion: Don’t forget your body! Use a good body lotion that hydrates your skin without making it greasy. Arms and legs can get dry very easily, so make sure you apply a good amount of body lotion after you take a shower. If your skin is very dry, you can apply some before going to bed as well.
