WV Connect - Wedding Affair

WV Connect is Asia’s largest wedding extravaganza connecting the entire wedding fraternity. Asia’s largest B2B Wedding Summit 2023 was organised in Mahabalipuram, Chennai from April 3rd to April 5th. This three-day grand event was filled with an opportunity to connect and flourish together as an industry. Moreover, it brought together like-minded individuals from different verticals, communities, and backgrounds in the wedding industry.

Reputable industry experts graced the event, including Rituraj Khanna, CEO of Q Events and President of WV Connect, Meltem Tepeler of KM Events, Rajnish Rathi, Director & Chief Editor of Wedding Affair,  Jayadeep Mehta of True Events Live, Rakhi Kankaria of Rachnoutsav Events, GRT Group of Hotels & Resorts CEO Vikram Cotah Weddings by Dhruva’s CEO, Dhruva Kumar Celebrity makeup artist Namrata Soni, Indian matchmaker Sima Taparia of Netflix fame & CEO of Suitable Rishta and Joshua Karthick, a co-founder of Stories by Joseph Radhik & Gittika Ganju Dhar, an anchor, writer, actor, and communication coach at Ministry of Talk.

Day 1 Of WV Connect

Flag Off WV ConnectThe day commenced by savouring the flavours of India in a scrumptious lunch while enjoying the mesmerizing views from Radisson Blu Temple Bay. Followed by the lunch, the organizers conducted an ECR (East Coast Road) Tour for the participants of the event. Enjoying the time being spent together, the participants also enjoyed discovering majestic monuments, scenic beaches and luxurious hotels on their journey. As they returned from their excursion, they were greeted with a chance to loosen up and unwind at the Sundowner. After visiting the entire property, they were boarded to their next location. The night’s specially curated dinner buffet was a chance for them to indulge in conversations with industry peers and was a fun-filled way to cap off the day.

Onam SandhyaThe second day of the connect was inaugurated with a conference and an Expo where numerous well-known names from the wedding industry and many hoteliers connected and shared their warm greetings with one another. Following the meet and greet, there were a few sessions that were organised where renowned personalities from the wedding industry served as speakers and had an open discussion about varied essential topics such as “The utilization of digital media in the industry and its enhancement”. Following the fusion of various informative sessions and entertainment programmes, the participants were served the flavours of authentic South Indian food to relish on the lush green lawns with the menu theme, Malabar Coast Sadhya. As the night progressed into a frolicsome affair with a concert and soothing voices of the singers, the afterparty added to the vibe of the event at Savana Lawn.

WV Connect Fashion ShowThe last day of the wvconnect was a bustling affair. The day was jam-packed with inspiration, celebrations and glamour. The day kicked off with early morning 101 weddings. The heart-warming event facilitated 101 free destination marriages for economically disadvantaged and differently-abled couples and marked a new record in The Guinness World Records. A few extremely generous soles made it possible by donating a total sum of Rs 10 crores via wvconnect. Next in the line were the insightful masterclasses by a few crème layer personalities of the wedding industry, who have done and proved it all. Following the information-fuelled classes, the much-awaited ‘Biryani Fest’ enticed everyone with the flavourful aromas. Next in line for the productive day was the ‘WV Award Ceremony’ to celebrate the best of the wedding industry with specially made kintsugi-inspired trophies. These unique trophies celebrate the art of mending broken pieces and transforming flaws into beauty. Last but not the least, the participants, speakers and guests encountered the latest wedding fashion on the ramp that charmed everyone with its ethereal beauty. The event concluded with a grand gala dinner at the banquets as the organizers bid farewell to everyone who was involved in this successful wedding summit.
