The biggest challenge that we face when it comes to focusing on our health is time. This is especially true for the brides out there. But did you know that if you spare 5 minutes every day, you will be ready to achieve everything you desire and that too, probably in less than 24 hours. Wedding Affair brings to you some effective yoga asanas that will get you in shape before your big day.

Tadasana

To do this asana, stand straight with your ankles apart and hang your arms behind your torso. Balance your body weight on your body after raising your ankles and landing them on the floor. As you inhale, lift your ankles and release your shoulder blades away from your head. This asana involves all major muscles and is the foundation of most asanas.

Vrikshasana

This pose starts with putting your right leg high up on your left thigh. After you maintain a steady balance, inhale slowly and join your palms together above your head. Make sure that your spine and left leg are straight. As you exhale, bring your hands down and put your right leg on the ground. This asana gives you a sense of grounding. It is meant to strengthen the feet and back.

Kursiasana

Begin with your legs slightly apart and arms stretched above the head. As you inhale, bend your knees and push your pelvis as if you are sitting on a chair. In the process, keep your hands straight and take deep breaths. Withdraw slowly as you exhale. This asana is known for strengthening legs and arms. It has energising effect on both the body and the mind.

Sukhasana

This is one of the simplest asanas. It starts with sitting cross-legged, i.e. with left leg on the right thigh and right leg on the left thigh. Keep your spine straight and put your hands on your knees, you may use a mudra if you like (join the tip of your index finger with the tip of your thumb). This is an asana which is ideal for meditation. It not only strengthens the spine but also relaxes the entire body.
