Anamika Khanna has been the fashion’s It Girl and she just rewrote couture direction with AK|OK’s London Fashion Week debut. The silver-stroked brilliance took over London with playful, light, easygoing yet edgy and versatile design. Remember Lakme Fashion Week in March? That was just a start for the ace designer’s latest label AK|OK. Khanna made headlines then with designs that step out of the politely clinched champagne flutes of Indian couture and stand next to the likes of Simone Rocha and JW Anderson. Last night, the global stage saw that dream unfold at London Fashion Week.
In their first-ever international runway appearance, AK|OK brought quintessential Anamika Khanna energy. The Spring/Summer 2026 collection was a fine blend of heritage design and London’s street-smart cool. Modern and contemporary yet rooted in the Indian core, that’s Anamika Khanna for you.
Talking about the inspiration, Khanna said that she imagined a young London girl rummaging through her grandmother’s trunk in India, finding a sari, a kurta, a jodhpuri jacket and remixing them with her London Wardrobe. The collection painted the picture beautifully with clean silhouettes, layered styling and just enough drama that turns heads.
Celebrities like Sonam Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez lent their star power to the show from the front row.
