Expert hospitality leader, Ranju Alex, is to drive growth across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Accor has announced the appointment of seasoned hospitality leader Ranju Alex as the new Chief Executive Officer for South Asia, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Her leadership will cover over 70 hotels in the region, with over 30 hotels in the pipeline.
After serving as the regional Vice President for South Asia at Marriott International, Alex has joined Accor. She has managed more than 170 hotels in the region for Marriott. In 1993, Ranju Alex began her career with The Oberoi Group and has been responsible for several leadership roles at Marriott over the past three decades.
Accor and InterGlobe announced a possible joint venture earlier this year. Gaurav Bhushan, chairman of the proposed Accor-InterGlobe JV, expressed confidence in building the “foremost” hospitality platform in South Asia under Alex’s leadership, saying that she brings “a wealth of rich experience, skills and relationships into the business.”
“I am delighted to join an organisation with the most comprehensive and exciting portfolio of brands in the region. It will be an honour to lead the Group’s vision in this region, and I eagerly look forward to this exciting role,” said Ranju Alex.
