And the wedding has begun! Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya kicked off their wedding festivities with a beautiful Pasupu Danchadam ritual.
The countdown to one of the most awaited celebrity weddings of the season has begun. Actress Sobhita Dhulipala and South actor Naga Chaitanya are all set to tie the knot very soon. The ceremony was held in Visakhapatnam. Sobhita took to her Instagram account to share some beautiful photos of the pre-wedding ceremony. The ‘Made in Heaven’ famed actress captioned the post, “Godhuma Raayi Pasupu danchatam. And so it begins!”
Godhuma means wheat while Raayi means stone, Pasupu means turmeric and Danchatam means grinding or crushing. Sobhita’s caption roughly translates to “crushing wheat, stone and turmeric together,” In Telugu weddings, this ceremony holds a lot of auspicious significance. It is a traditional ritual where the bride and groom join together to grind wheat, turmeric and other ingredients on a grinding stone. It is a symbolism of starting a life together where they will share responsibilities and work together in their new phase of life.
Sobhita looked absolutely graceful for her Pasupu Danchadam ceremony. Always a symbol of elegance and tradition, Sobhita opted for a classic double-bordered red and green silk saree. While the silk stood out for tradition, the contrasting border was spot on with the hot trend of 2024. The saree is reportedly gifted by her aunt. Sobhita completed her look with traditional gold jewellery, green bangles and gajra on a loose braid.
