Victoria Kjaer Theilvig from Denmark is Miss Universe 2024

Denmark’s “Human Barbie” Victoria Kjaer Theilvig was crowned the Miss Universe 2024 on 17th November in Mexico City.

The Grand Finale of the 73rd Miss Universe took place at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on the 17th of November this year with 125 hopeful contestants aiming for the crown. The 21-year-old beauty queen from Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig was crowned this year’s Miss Universe, securing the country’s first ever Miss Universe win.

On Sunday (IST), Victoria Kjaer Theilvig received the crown from Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua. This year, Nigeria’s Chidimma Adetshina became the first runner-up and Mexico’s Maria Fernanda Beltran became the second runner-up. Other than the top 3, Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri and Venezuela’s Ileana Marquez were among the top 5 finalists.

The official Instagram page of Miss Universe shared the news of this historic win with the caption, “A new era begins! Congratulations to Denmark, our 73rd Miss Universe. May your reign inspire and empower women worldwide. #73MissUniverseCompetition.”

For her winning moment, Victoria wore a bright pink gown featuring shimmering sequin embellishments, beaded off-the-shoulder straps, a plunging neckline and a bodycon fitting flaring to the floor-length hem.

Victoria received the new Miss Universe tiara ‘Lumière de l’Infini’, which means “Light of the Infinity”. It’s a gold tiara encrusted with pearls, made by the French-Filipino jewellery brand Jewelmer. The crown is adorned with 23 beautiful South Sea pearls.
